Attention YHS Seniors!!!!!
There will be a Senior Class meeting on Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 at 11:50 a.m. in Ms. Madison's room.
The high school softball game scheduled for today has been moved up to start at 12:30 in Oilton. The bus will leave the school at 11:30. Athletes will have an opportunity to eat lunch before leaving for the game.
Starting on Monday, August 12, juniors will be able to purchase a high school parking spot for $50. Painting will need to be done during the evenings or on the weekends. Paint must be water-based. All designs must be approved by Coach Moore before painting begins. Any seniors that have not purchased one may do so as well. First come, first serve.
See you Monday!
School will be starting soon for Yale Public Schools. YPS has updated its student handbook. There are a few things we would like to make everyone aware of:
1. Cell phones- Students will be allowed to have and use their phones in between classes and during breakfast and lunch. Once students enter a classroom, the cell phones must be put away until class ends. Students will not be allowed to charge their phones. If a student has their phone taken by a staff member, parents must come pick it up in the office. Possessing a cell phone at school is a privilege.
2. Vehicles- students will be expected to park their vehicle and exit it in a timely manner. Students are not allowed back in the parking lot without permission from the building principals. Driving privileges on school property can be revoked.
3. Dress code- This is difficult to simplify. Our expectation is for the majority of a students' shoulders to be covered. No midriff is allowed to show. Shorts, skirts, and pants must be of appropriate length and appropriate fit. No clothing that portrays anything related to drugs, alcohol, or anything inappropriate in age. Anything considered to be inappropriate by administration will be expected to be changed immediately. The District has plenty of additional clothing to assist students.
4. Attendance- All students will be expected to be in attendance of every class period for at least 90% of the time. Students that fall below 90% will not be allowed to attend or participate in extra-curricular activities. Tardies will count against a students attendance percentage. YPS firmly believes that we can best serve our students when they are in the classroom.
We are looking forward to a tremendous school year. Our staff will work diligently to provide a quality education to our students.
We appreciate everyone's help and support in meeting these expectations.
Tuesday, August 6th from 9:00-1:00 all 6th-8th grade students are invited to come up and visit with Mrs. Griffin about their class schedules. Online enrollment does need to be completed prior to arrival.
All staff will be attending Bullying Prevention training on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
Monday, August 5th from 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM all Freshmen and Sophomores are invited to come up and visit with Mrs. Griffin about their class schedules.
In effort to keep our community update with the most current information, the State of the School statements will be released periodically.

Yale Public Schools is excited to announce that for the 2024-2025 all students will enjoy FREE Breakfasts and FREE Lunches! Parents will not need to submit a free/reduced lunch application to participate in this. When enrollment opens later in July the enrollment forms will include a simpler online economically disadvantaged form that we ask parents to complete to help ensure that YPS receives the proper amount of state aid funding.
YPS admin and coaches have been collaborating on how to make the numbers work for JH and HS fast-pitch and volleyball. Volleyball had plenty of players attend the coaches meeting. Fast-pitch was short of players. Game schedules and July practice schedules have been arranged to allow the volleyball players the opportunity to help fast-pitch form a team and compete. We do not plan on allowing fast-pitch players to play volleyball because they already have enough players for a team.
YES Position!
Congratulations to Mr. Fuss and the Yale FFA Chapter for receiving a FY25 Lottery Grant for $14,940. These funds will be used for improvements to the Ag department.
Medical emergency at the High School, ambulance was called as precaution, no student's were involved.
Parent/Guardians: We still have quite a few outstanding meal balances. Please have your child(ren)s' lunch accounts current by June 5 so they do not begin the 2024-2025 school year in the negative. A negative balance notification was called to the students’ number 1 contact every Wednesday. LR balances can be checked on your parent gradebook portal (credit card payments can be made from the portal as well) or by calling 918-387-2434 Ext 3 or emailing sarapitts@yale.k12.ok.us for the most current balance. These amounts will roll over on June 15 following the account to the next school year, regardless of their meal status for the new year. We thank you for your cooperation .
